IBBI Further Extends Deadline for Filing PGIRP Forms
The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) has issued Circular No. IBBI/II/108/2026 dated 24 September 2026, granting a further extension for filing electronic Forms PGIRP-1 to PGIRP-6 relating to insolvency resolution processes of Personal Guarantors to Corporate Debtors.
Key Highlights of IBBI Further Extends Deadline for Filing PGIRP Forms
- Extended Due Date : The last date for submission of all applicable PGIRP-1 to PGIRP-6 forms has been extended from 30 September 2026 to 31 December 2026.
- Relief from Penalties : Penalties for delayed filing or modification of these forms will now be applicable only after 31 December 2026.
- Example : Suppose an Insolvency Professional is handling a personal guarantor insolvency case and has not yet filed PGIRP forms relating to admission, claims, or progress of the resolution process. Earlier, these forms needed to be filed by 30 September 2026. Under the revised circular, they can now be filed up to 31 December 2026 without attracting late filing penalties

- All pending and applicable PGIRP-1 to PGIRP-6 forms can now be filed up to 31 December 2026.
- Penalty relief : The circular also provides that penalties for delayed submission of forms, or modification of already submitted forms will be imposed only after 31 December 2026. Therefore, no late filing penalty will apply during the extended period
Reason for Extension : The extension has been granted considering:
- Practical difficulties faced by stakeholders.
- Feedback received from Insolvency Professionals (IPs) and Insolvency Professional Agencies (IPAs).
- Additional transitional time required for smooth compliance with the electronic filing system.
Practical Impact—IBBI Further Extends Deadline for Filing PGIRP Forms
- This extension provides much-needed relief to insolvency professionals handling cases of personal guarantors to corporate debtors under the IBC Code, 2016. Stakeholders now have an additional three months to complete and upload pending PGIRP forms without attracting late filing penalties.
