Biometric-Based Aadhaar Authentication & document verification for GST registration applicants
GSTN has implemented Biometric-Based Aadhaar Authentication and document verification for GST registration applicants in Jharkhand and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands Effective February 15, 2025. This initiative aims to enhance security, transparency, and fraud prevention in the GST registration process.
Automated Verification Process: Post submission of Form GST REG-01, applicants will receive an email containing either:
- A link for OTP-based Aadhaar Authentication (existing process), or
- An appointment booking link for biometric verification at a GST Suvidha Kendra (GSK).
Appointment Booking: Applicants required to undergo biometric authentication must schedule an appointment using the provided link.
Mandatory Documents for GSK Visit:
- Appointment confirmation email (hard/soft copy)
- Jurisdiction details from the intimation email
- Original Aadhaar & PAN Card
- Original documents uploaded in Form GST REG-01
Biometric Authentication & Document Verification: To be conducted at the GSK for all individuals listed in the application.
Timelines & ARN Generation: Applicants must complete biometric verification within the permissible period mentioned in the email to generate the Application Reference Number (ARN).
GSK Operational Hours: As per state/UT guidelines.
