MCA Extends DPT-3 Filing Due Date to 31 July 2026
In a significant compliance relief measure, the MCA has issued General Circular No. 02/2026 dated 19 June 2026 bearing F. No. Policy-02/2/2020-CL-V-MCA, allowing companies to file Form DPT-3 (Return of Deposits) for FY 2025-26 without payment of additional fees up to 31 July 2026. The relaxation has been granted due to operational disruptions and restoration activities at the Ministry of Corporate Affairs Data Center following a fire incident on 05 June 2026. The circular provides much-needed relief to companies, professionals, and compliance teams facing difficulties in completing DPT-3 filings within the normal deadline.

Benefit: Companies can now file Form DPT-3 for FY 2025-26 up to 31 July 2026 without incurring any additional filing fee, No additional filing fees will be charged up to 31 July 2026.
The relief applies to all companies that are required to file Form DPT-3 for the financial year 2025-26 under:
- Section 73 of the Companies Act, 2013; and
- Rule 16 of the Companies (Acceptance of Deposits) Rules, 2014
Reason for relaxation: The Ministry of Corporate Affairs stated that capacity enhancement and restoration activities are being undertaken at its Data Center following the fire incident that occurred on 05 June 2026. In view of these exceptional circumstances, the Ministry decided to grant temporary relief from additional fees. While the statutory due date remains 30 June 2026, companies can now file the form up to 31 July 2026 without additional fees. The relaxation has been granted due to technical restoration activities at the Ministry of Corporate Affairs Data Centre after the fire incident of 05 June 2026.

Extract of the Relaxation : The relaxation is available only up to 31 July 2026. Any filing made after this date will attract additional fees in accordance with the normal provisions of the Companies Act and applicable filing fee rules. Companies may file Form DPT-3 for the financial year 2025-26 up to 31 July 2026 without payment of additional fees.
Companies should therefore ensure that financial data is reconciled, outstanding loans and deposits are reviewed, auditor-certified information, wherever necessary, is obtained, and DPT-3 is filed within the relaxation period.
