The government recently declared that for micro, small, and medium companies (MSMEs), only a permanent account number (PAN) and an Aadhar card will be required for registration, a move that is likely to promote the sector by simplifying the registration process and encouraging wider involvement. On Tuesday, Nitin Gadkari, the Minister for Road Transport and Highways who also oversees the MSME department, made the momentous statement.
He stated that once the MSME units are registered, they will be given priority and funding. Mr. Gadkari also emphasized the need of providing training to small businesses in the realm of entrepreneurship, assuring the sector of his complete support.
The Minister goes on to explain that the MSME unit will only be able to access funding once it has been registered. He also underlined the importance of providing training to small businesses in the areas of entrepreneurship and other related topics. He also stated that he will provide complete assistance to the MSME and that he believes that banks and NBFCs will also provide full support to small enterprises.
MSMEs, according to Gadkari, contribute considerably to India's social and economic growth by encouraging entrepreneurship and creating vast numbers of job opportunities. Developing India as an Economic Powerhouse The minister went on to say that in order to stimulate MSMEs' economic activity, the government has announced the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan,' a unique incentive package of 20 lakh crore rupees.
