APEDA’s Functions Authorities
APEDA’s Authorities are tasked with functions such as mentioned below:
- establishing standards and specifications for Scheduled products;
- promoting export-oriented production and development of Scheduled products;
- improving packaging and marketing of Scheduled products;
- registering Scheduled product exporters upon payment of required fees; and
- Conducting product inspections to ensure product quality;
- Training in different areas of industries related to the planned goods; and
- Obtaining figures from the owners of industries or institutions and publishing them
- Establishing standards and specifications for planned items.
- Encourage export production and the development of planned items.
- Upon payment of the appropriate fees, register the exporters of the planned items.
- Conduct a product inspection in order to ensure the quality of such items.
- Provide training in a variety of sectors related to the upcoming planned goods.

APEDA is in charge of export promotion and development of scheduled goods like as meat, fruits, vegetables and poultry, Honey, Jaggery, Confectionery, Biscuits, Bakery Products, and papads, and chutneys, Sugar Products, Cocoa Products, Chocolates, Floriculture Products Pickles, etc.
What does APEDA RCMC Registration entail?
- RCMC is an abbreviation for Registration Cum Membership Certificate. It is a certificate of membership given by the Export Promotional Councils (EPCs) or Commodity Boards of India. The RCMC certifies that the exporter is registered with the Export Promotional Council/Commodity Boards.
- An application for registration under APEDA must be submitted within one month of the date of export undertaking.
- A person can be registered as a vendor exporter or a manufacturing exporter.

- Poultry and poultry products
- Dairy products
- Meat and meat products
- Honey, jaggery, and sugar products
- Confectionery, biscuits, and bakery products
- Groundnuts, peanuts, and walnuts
- Pickles, papads, and chutneys
- Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
- Herbal and medicinal plants
- Cereal and cereal products
- Floriculture and Floriculture products
- Along with these products, one of the primary responsibilities of the APEDA is to monitor the import of sugar.

APEDA Registration Procedure
- Step 1: Go to the APEDA official website and register.
- 2: Register as a member and fill out all of the required information.
- 3: For verification, an OTP will be given to your registered email address and phone number.
- 4: Once the verification is complete, prepare the application form by filling out all of the needed information and attaching all of the appropriate papers.
- 5: Pay the necessary Government fees using the approved payment method.
- 6: Following successful payment of the fees, an APEDA Application Number will be produced, which will be required for future references.
- 7: The approval of the RCMC by APEDA Officials is the last step in the APEDA Registration procedure.
- 8: After approval, the APEDA RCMC Certificate may be accessed through the APEDA site.
When an application is correctly filed and paid for, the authority provides a Registration -Cum- Membership- Certificate (RCMC) and the applicant’s name is added to the APEDA list of members.
Process for APEDA Registration- Online registration process
With effect from 1.8.2015, the issuing of RCMC has been made online utilizing digital signatures with the goal of simplifying procedures and making conducting business easier. Exporters can file an application online by following the processes outlined below:
- Step 1: Go to the APEDA official website and register.
- 2: Register as a member and fill out all of the required information.
- 3: For verification, an OTP will be given to your registered email address and phone number.
- 4: Once the verification is done, prepare the application form by filling out all of the needed information and attaching all of the appropriate papers.
- 5: Then, using the recommended payment method, pay the necessary government fees.
- 6: Following successful payment of the fees, an APEDA Application Number will be produced, which will be required for future references.
- 7: The approval of the RCMC by APEDA Officials is the last step in the APEDA Registration procedure. The status of the RCMC application may be viewed by clicking the “Track Application” link and entering the IE Code and Application number until it is issued.
- 8: Once approved, the APEDA RCMC Certificate may be accessed through the APEDA site. The final step is for APEDA authorities to approve the RCMC, and if approved, the Certificate may be obtained through APEDA Login under the subject of “View RCMC Certificate” under the RCMC Menu. APEDA Registration Fees
- Rs. 5000 for APEDA registration (exclusive of GST).
- Payment can be done offline (Demand Draft in favor of APEDA payable in respective cities of APEDA Offices) or online (through credit/debit card) or
- Any government fees paid will be reimbursed by the registering authority if registration is refused.

- PAN– A PAN is a must-have document for all enterprises or firms; obtaining a PAN Number is required for APEDA registration.
- Import Export Code Certificate anyone or any firm that wants to export or import products and services from or to India must get an Import Export Code.
- Product Catalog APEDA promotes and develops exports of scheduled agricultural goods that require an APEDA certificate.
- Details of All Partners /Directors/ /Proprietors Documents such as the names and addresses of all directors, partners, and proprietors must be included in the APEDA Registration application.

Is APEDA RCMC Registration Valid in India?
- APEDA RCMC Registration is valid for a period of five fiscal years.

Angamuthu (IAS) urged for boosting value addition and establishing a diversification strategy for food production in India at the recently concluded National Conference for strengthening export competitiveness and enhancing farmer’s income.
