A UAN number is required for membership in the Employees Provident Fund. Using the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization’s (EPFO) online platform, employers can generate Universal Account Numbers (UAN Numbers) for their employees.

Ist Step: Needed to visit to https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/ to get started.
IInd Step: Then chose ‘‘Direct UAN Allotment’ from the drop-down menu or Online Aadhaar Verified Universal Account Numbers Allotment’.
Third Step: You’ll now be prompted for your Aadhaar No. Select after choosing create one-time password after entering your Aadhaar No.
Forth Step: you will find a one-time password will be given to mobile No registered.
Fifty Step: Click to accept the disclaimer after entering the one-time password. Verify the details & complete compulsory area to be entered with the requested details.
Sixth Step: Now Click ‘register’ button option after selecting the captcha code & checking disclaimer contains box.
Seven Step: then we will be assigned a Universal Account Numbers after clicking the Register button.

- Members with a Universal Account Number can check their latest PF contribution and balance with EPFO by sending an SMS to 7738299899 from their registered mobile number.
- To participate, members must text “EPFOHO UAN” to 7738299899. English (default), Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannad, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Bengali are the ten languages supported.
- After UAN, the first three characters of the selected language must be added to receive SMS in any language other than English. To receive SMS in Telugu, for example, send the text “EPFOHO UAN TEL” to 7738299899.
- UAN’s registered mobile number should be used to send SMS. EPFO will respond by sending the member’s most recent PF contribution and balance information, as well as any available KYC details.
