How to check the status of TAN and PAN Application

You monitor the status of the TAN Application on the TIN NSDL Website

The Payer / Deductor can use the 14-digit acknowledgment number to check the TAN status of the TIN NSDL. The status of the TAN application represents the status of the TAN application after 3 days of submission of the TAN application.

There are three ways to interpret the TIN NSDL position:

  3. By sending a Text message to the NSDL number of the TIN.

How do I know the status of my TAN application?

Following Steps to be followed for viewing TAN Application status on TIN NSDL Portal.

You have to take the procedures below.

Step 1:  Visit the NSDL-TIN website.

Select the “TAN” link from the “Services” drop-down list on the TIN-NSDL Portal screen.

Step 3:  Select the option “TAN – New / Change Request” from the drop-down list “Application Form”

Insert the 14-digit acknowledgment number in the chosen fields. TIN-NSDL-Track your TAN position

Step 4:  Press on the option “Submit”

Before sending, enter the captcha code from the given image.

Thus, when you click on the “Send” button, the Position of your TAN will be shown. 

TAN STATUS ONLINE

  • Generally, it takes 5 to 10 days to obtain your TAN after an application has been submitted. Often, due to inadequate documentation, it can be postponed. What is the NSDL TAN ADDRESS?

If you have not made a payment online, sign this acknowledgment and return it with a check or DD. A DD or check should be made payable to Mumbai for the benefit of NSDL – TIN. Send it to the NSDL address given below:

  • Write to: NSDL e-Governance Infrastructure Limited, 5th floor, Mantri Sterling, Plot No. 341, Survey No. 997/8, Model Colony, Near Deep Bungalow Chowk, Pune-411016

Remember to superscribe this envelope as ‘TAN APPLICATION – (note your acknowledgment number)’

If you have paid online, just send the receipt of the confirmation. Please ensure that it reaches NSDL, Pune, within 15 days from the date of the online application. Your TAN application will be processed upon receipt of payment and acknowledgment.

What is the process to know your TAN Jurisdiction building?

To know the name of the TAN jurisdiction building, follow the following steps:

  • In the first place, visit www.incometaxindia.gov.in.
  • Now, under the ‘Important Ties’ tab, select ‘Jurisdiction.’
  • Next, pick your state.
  • You are now being routed to a PDF file. Find the name of the TAN jurisdiction building in the table.

Application for Pan Card

The PAN card application process is a simple process and, in compliance with the Income Tax Act, 1961, is also compulsory. By using both online and offline modes, the PAN card application can be created.

Taxpayers are expected to receive a special form for the PAN card application and need to fill in the relevant details. The following 2 processes for PAN Card Application are as below:

Online Process:

It is easier to make an application for a PAN Card by Online process. With so many online channels available, even the government is not too far behind in incorporating technology to support citizens and render application processes for different documents online these days for just about everything.

Steps:-

Step 1: Visit the NSDL website (click here) to apply for a PAN Card online, where you can fill in all the relevant details.

Step 2: Since you are a new applicant, click on the ‘Apply Online’ link in the upper left corner.

You can pick one of the three choices in the drop-down box:

  • New PAN-Citizen of India
  • New PAN-Foreign resident
  • Changes or Corrections to Existing PAN/PAN Card Reprint.

Step 3: It is a selection category that includes choices such as:

  • Individual
  • Company
  • Associate of Individual
  • Hindu Undivided Family(HUF)
  • Trust
  • Limited Liability
  • The Partnership
  • Local Government

Step-4: There is a need to fill in the required category with information after selecting your category. In the PAN application process, you have to mention details that include the title, last name, first name and middle name, date of birth (DOB), contact number, and email address for these pages.

Step-5: You will have to re-type a captcha code after providing the appropriate data and then click on the ‘Submit’ button.

Step-6: The website provides you with a 15-digit acknowledgment number after submitting the details.

Step -07:In the next 15 working days, you will obtain a PAN Card.

 

Offline Process:

  • From the Income Tax Department of India’s official website, you have to download the 49 A or 49 AA form or you can also visit any Income Tax Pan Service Center run by UTI Infrastructure and Services Limited (UTIISL).
  • After downloading the application form, fill up the form with all sections of the 08 pages.
  • You would have to submit a demand draft of Rs.107 (including tax) along with the application form, after filling out the application form. If the PAN application form has to be submitted outside India, an additional amount of Rs.887 will have to be charged.
  • Ensure that the form is submitted along with a copy of your proof of address and proof of identity.

Part- 1: Application for allotment of PAN and TAN

E-PAN Card:

The e-PAN is a digitally signed PAN card issued by the Income Tax Department using the Aadhaar e-KYC in electronic format.

The E-PAN has a QR code that contains demographic information of holders of PAN cards, such as the name, date of birth, and photographs of the individual. This information is accessible and duly recognized via a QR code reader.

This facility is available for those PAN applicants who have a valid Aadhaar number and a mobile number registered with Aadhaar. The allocation process is paperless and the applicants are given an electronic PAN (e-PAN) at no cost.

On the NSDL website, you can apply for an E-PAN card. An e-mail will be sent to you from where it can be downloaded. Applicants who are applying for an E-PAN Card must submit an online application form with the processing fee. If the process has been successful, then E-PAN will be sent to you at your email address. Step to apply for e-PAN Card as follows:

  • Click on the NSDL website (click here) and then, as per the requirement, choose a form and fill in the status based on it.
  • Status could be like “requesting a new PAN card or requiring any kind of PAN details correction or changes.
  • Thereafter, fill in the form with the required details mentioned that include name, e-mail address, and date of birth (mandate for the E- PAN Card application PAN card).
  • It is mandatory to fill a column with an asterisk symbol.
  • You will then be directed to a new screen with 3 options, and selection must be made as a day applicator.
  • One should respond “NO” for a Physical card and choose an E-PAN card option.
  • An Aadhar card number is another piece of information that is required to enter the form. As for the one who goes with an e sign option and E-KYC, it is mandatory.
  • Click on “Next” after all the details are entered, which will lead you to a page where you need to fill out the contact number and other details.
  • Documents that are needed for verification should be provided along with the application as proof. Click on the “submit button” after the declaration.
  • Make sure to recheck your application then make a payment using any payment method, such as Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking.
  • After making a successful transaction and all verification is completed, a 15-digit acknowledgment number will be assigned which is used to track your PAN Card status.

Dos and Don’ts in the application of PAN Card:

  • Remember to provide all the details according to the proof of address and proof of identity you mention in the PAN application.
  • To avoid disqualification, always get your thumb impression properly attested and signed by a Magistrate/Notary before submitting the form.
  • Provide proper information on address and contact details.
  • If you select the offline method, then fill the form in Capital letter and do not correct errors or overwrite the form.
  • In both the Online and Offline methods, make sure do not to use the initials or abbreviations in the first and last name columns.
  • Don’t apply for a new PAN Card, if you lost it. Since Income Tax Department can provide you duplicate copy of the PAN Card.
