ICAI – CPE hours Requirements

The ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India) requires its members to comply with Continuing Professional Education (CPE) hours to maintain their professional competence.   • How to Claim Unstructured CPE Credits : Unstructured CPE credits can be claimed by submitting a Self-Declaration Form online.
  • Structured vs. Unstructured CPE: Structured CPE hours typically involve formal learning activities such as seminars, webinars, and conferences, while unstructured CPE hours can include activities like reading professional literature, participating in discussions, and other informal learning methods.
  • Monitoring Compliance: It is important to keep track of your CPE hours to ensure compliance with ICAI’s requirements. Non-compliance may result in disciplinary actions or impact your professional standing.

How to Login to your CPE account and check the status.

  • Visit the CPE login page: ICAI CPE Login
  • Use your 6-digit Membership Number as your User ID. The default password format is cpe followed by your 6-digit Membership Number (e.g., if your Membership Number is 123456, your password would be cpe123456).
  • Once logged in, navigate to the section for submitting the Self-Declaration Form. Fill in the required details accurately. Upload the form as per the instructions provided on the portal.
  • Ensure that you fill and upload the Self-Declaration Form by May 31, 2024, to avail of the Unstructured Learning Activities (ULA) credits for the calendar year 2023.
  • Please submit your Self-declaration Form Online to avail 20 Unstructured CPE Hours for Calendar Year 2017 from the link https://cpeapp.icai. org/member/login.

FAQ on E-WAY BILLS:

  • Query: Whether e-way bill is required for all the goods that are being transported?
  • Answer: The e-way bill is required to transport all the goods except exempted under the notifications or rules. Movement of handicraft goods or goods for job-work purposes under specified circumstances also requires e-way bill even if the value of consignment is less than fifty thousand rupees. Kindly refer to the e-way bill rules for other exemptions.
