Of lately, the Government had introduced online Foreign Registration and Visa extension facility. Foreigners could book appointment and upload documents online. However, they had to be physically present on the appointed date at the FRRO office for processing of the application.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Taking a step further, the government\u00a0has now introduced an e-FRRO portal\u00a0with an aim to provide faceless, cashless and paperless service to foreign nationals. There will be no requirement to visit FRRO office.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">e-FRRO involves completely online application submission and document upload, for which no facilitation is required by any intermediary \/ agents etc. The foreign nationals are required to apply online by themselves.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Foreigners are required to create their own USER-ID by registering themselves online on e-FRRO portal. Afterwards, they are required to apply online through registered user-id for various Visa and Immigration related services in India viz. Registration, Visa Extension, Visa Conversion, Exit Permit etc, without any hassle and obtain the service(s) without coming to FRRO\/FRO office.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Web based application aimed to build centralized online platform for foreigners for visa related services. Its key objective is to provide <strong>Faceless, Cashless<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Paperless\u00a0<\/strong>services to the foreigners with user friendly experience.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Salient_Features_of_FRRO\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>Salient Features of FRRO:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Mandatory visit to the local FRRO office located at Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai has been done away with,\u00a0from 12 February 2018<\/li>\n<li>Online submission of documents in respect of all visa and immigration related services\u00a0<em>(such as the Indian FRRO registration, visa extension, change of address\/passport, visa conversion, exit permission, etc.)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Intimation to the client,\u00a0through e-mail\/SMS alerts\u00a0for service granted \/ rejected<\/li>\n<li>Registration Certificate will be sent by post and on the registered email id. Alternatively, it can be downloaded from the portal.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Document_Requirement_of_FRRO\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>Document\u00a0<\/strong><b>Requirement <strong>of FRRO:\u00a0<\/strong><\/b><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Photo and Document(s) upload are mandatory.<\/li>\n<li>First use the\u00a0<strong>Online Application Submission<\/strong>\u00a0option then upload photo and required document(s).<\/li>\n<li>Only one copy of each document type has to be uploaded.<\/li>\n<li>Scanned documents should be in PDF format.<\/li>\n<li>Single supporting document can have multiple PDFs. The maximum size of each PDF should be 1 MB.<\/li>\n<li>Only completely filled application along with photo and document(s) is available for appointment.<\/li>\n<li>Only permanently saved application is available for Re-Printing.<\/li>\n<li>Photo Requirements:\n<ol>\n<li>Format &#8211; jpg<\/li>\n<li>Size &#8211; Maximum 1 MB<\/li>\n<li>Photo should present Full face, front view, eyes open<\/li>\n<li>Center head within frame and present full head from top of hair to bottom of chin<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is seen as another breakthrough initiative in line with the vision of\u00a0\u2018Digital India\u2019\u00a0and\u00a0\u2018Ease of Doing Business\u2019. Foreign nationals and their family\u00a0members\u00a0will not be\u00a0required\u00a0to be physically present at FRRO office. Thus, this will enhance ease to foreign nationals and also, will help the Government to have better controls over the processes.
