during this article, we shall answer such queries but before that, let\u2019s have a short understanding of DIN.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Meaning\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Meaning<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>DIN\u00a0is that the\u00a0Director\u00a0identification number\u00a0allotted to\u00a0an individual\u00a0by the Central Government who intends to appoints as a Director\u00a0within the\u00a0Company or a Partner in an LLP registered in India.<\/li>\n<li>Appliance for allotment of DIN shall be made in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.caindelhiindia.com\/blog\/all-about-the-director-kyc-dir-3-kyc-filing\/\">Form DIR-3<\/a>\/ Spice+ together with required fees and documents.<\/li>\n<li>The same DIN allotted to the Director shall not be allotted to the other person and such DIN is valid for a lifetime. it&#8217;s a unique 8-digit number written underneath the signature of the concerned director in returns, applications, forms, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Any change in details mentioned in Form DIR-3 or Spice+ shall be intimated through Form DIR-6 to the concerned authority\u00a0together with\u00a0supportive documents.<\/li>\n<li>Any individual shall not apply for an additional DIN when already possess the identical otherwise it shall be considered as non-compliance with Section 155 and such director or the corporate shall be prone to imprisonment or fine.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Utilization_of_DIN\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Utilization\u00a0of DIN<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Director identification numbers may be accustomed to filing returns, applications, or any quiet information regarding the corporate before the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.<\/li>\n<li>The director must suit the essential requirement of the annual KYC within the due date of every year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Reasons_for_Surrender_of_DIN\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Reasons for Surrender of DIN<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-18004\" src=\"https:\/\/carajput.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Reasons-for-Surrender-of-DIN..jpeg\" alt=\"Reasons for Surrender of DIN\" width=\"834\" height=\"429\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>Some of the reasons for surrendering a DIN by a Director can be as follows &#8211;<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Multiple DIN\u2013 As per Section 153 of the companies Act, 2013 if any Director holds quite one DIN, then he should make an application to Regional Director in Form DIR-5 together with a notarized affidavit stating that such DIN has never been utilized in any quite a document required to be submitted to ROC. Apart from this, an application in respect of compounding shall be made in Form GNL-1.<\/li>\n<li>DIN obtained by fraud or wrongful manner- If a Director has obtained a DIN by furnishing false information or\u00a0in a very\u00a0wrongful manner, then DIN is required to be surrendered by the concerned person\/director.<\/li>\n<li>Moreover, regulatory authorities can also deactivate such DIN, however, the same shall be made after issuing a show-cause notice to the said director.<\/li>\n<li>When Director declared as someone of unsound mind- As per Section 153 of the companies Act, 2013 if the competent court has declared anyone as of unsound mind, then DIN is required to be surrendered by filing Form DIR-5 together with the order of the court as an attachment.<\/li>\n<li>In case Director adjudicated as an insolvent- If the DIN holder adjudged as an insolvent, then he shall surrender his DIN by filing Form DIR-5 together with the order of the court.<\/li>\n<li>Death of the Director- just in case of death of the director, his relative shall file Form DIR-5 and shall attach death certificate thereto.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Ways_to_Surrender\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Ways to Surrender<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-18005\" src=\"https:\/\/carajput.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Ways-to-Surrender-300x136.jpeg\" alt=\"Ways to Surrender\" width=\"851\" height=\"386\" srcset=\"https:\/\/carajput.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Ways-to-Surrender-300x136.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/carajput.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Ways-to-Surrender.jpeg 334w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 851px) 100vw, 851px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>There are two ways through which the Director can surrender DIN like on the order of the Central Government or Voluntarily by DIN holder.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_By_the_order_of_Central_Government%E2%80%93\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong>A. By the order of Central Government\u2013<\/strong> <\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>Central Government has the power to order the surrender of DIN of a Director in cases such as:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If the Director holds multiple DIN<\/li>\n<li>Where the Director obtains DIN by fraud or misrepresentation<\/li>\n<li>On Death of Director<\/li>\n<li>In case the Director has been declared insolvent<\/li>\n<li>Where the Director has been adjudged as an insolvent<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"B_Voluntarily_by_DIN_holder%E2%80%93\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">B.
