1. Gross GST Collection Crosses INR 1.99 Lakh Crore

  • Gross GST revenue for August 2026 stood at INR 1,99,853 crore compared to INR 1,74,116 crore in August 2025.
  • This represents a 14.8% year-on-year growth.

2. Net GST Revenue Grows 8.3%

  • After adjusting for refunds, Net GST Revenue was INR 1,68,057 crore in August 2026 against INR 1,55,181 crore in August 2025.
  • Net collections increased by 8.3%.

3. Strong Growth in Import GST

  • GST collected on imports increased from INR 48,546 crore to INR 62,604 crore.
  • Growth in import GST was 29%, indicating strong import activity and customs-related collections.

4. Domestic GST Revenue Remains Healthy

  • Domestic gross GST collections rose from INR 1,25,570 crore to INR 1,37,249 crore.
  • Growth recorded was 9.3% over August 2025.

5. Refunds Increased Significantly

  • Total GST refunds during August 2026 were INR 31,795 crore against INR 18,935 crore in August 2025.
