3.59 Cr ITRs filed on new e-filing Income tax Portal

3.59 Cr online-file-income-tax-reurns submitted till date

  • As on December-15-2021 For the AY  2021-2022,  No of 3.59 Cr Income Tax Returns (ITRs) have been filed on the new e-filing portal of the income tax Dept.
  • Number of Income Tax Returns submitted filed per day has crossed Six lakh & increasing day by day as the extended due date of 31st Dec, 2021 is approaching.
  • It’s wonderful seeing that 3.11 Cr Income tax Returns have been e-verified, with over 2.69 million using an Aadhaar-based OTP.

  • Tax Dept’s ability to begin processing ITRs and award refunds, if any, depends on the Department’s ability to perform e-verification using Aadhaar OTP and other means.
  • Over 2.38 crore e-verified ITRs have been processed, generating in over 90.95 crore reimbursements for the fiscal year 2021-22.
  • To avoid refund issues, taxpayers should ensure that the bank account they choose refund credit has their PAN linked to it.

Status of Income tax department portal

  • Till the 15th of December 2021, about 37.92 lakh Statutory Forms have been filed, including 15.30 lakh TDS statements, 1.61 lakh Form 10A for trusts/institutions registration, 3.90 lakh Form 10E for salary arrears, 51,302 Form 35 for submitting an appeal, and 35,741 DTVSV Form 4.
  • There have been more than 8.88 lakh Form 15CA, 2.18 lakh Form 15CB, 26,753 Form 3CA, and 2.67 lakh Form 3CB filed.
  • And over 32.13 lakh e-PANs have been generated for free online. For registrations and compliance, Legal Heir feature has been enabled.
  • All taxpayers are strongly encouraged to view their Form 26AS and AIS via the e-filing portal to verify the accuracy of TDS and Tax Payments and to take advantage of pre-filling ITRs.
